Abstract:
In order to enhance the surface hardness and corrosion resistance of Q235 carbon steel, Fe60+Mo composite coating was prepared on its surface by laser cladding. The microstructure, microhardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the coatings were analyzed. The results show that the microhardness of the fused cladding layer increases first and then decreases with the increase of Mo content, and the microhardness is up to 1030 HV when the addition of Mo reaches 5wt%, and at the same time, the fused cladding layer has the best abrasion resistance, which is 1.8 times higher than that of the fused cladding layer with no added Mo.The results of electrochemical corrosion tests show that the addition of a small amount of Mo can improve the corrosion resistance of iron-based coatings. The results of the study are instructive for the preparation of Mo-added iron-based coatings by laser cladding.
