Effect of Ultrasonic Assistance on Quality of Laser Cladding Ni60 Coating

    • The three cladding layers were fabricated on the surface of 45 steel by laser cladding Ni60 alloy powder. The comparison experiments of ultrasonic vibration and with no ultrasonic vibration were applied on the coatings. The microstructure and phase composition of the coating were analyzed by OM and SEM. The element line scaning analysis was carried out by EDS. The results show that compared with the coating without ultrasonic vibration, the application of ultrasonic vibration in the laser cladding process makes the element distribution tend to be uniform and can not affect the types of phases in the coating. Meanwhile, ultrasonic vibration can reduce the grain size and stress growth in the coating, thus reducing the number of cracks in the coatings. Generally, the application of ultrasonic vibration can effectively improve the cladding effect and improve the properties of the coating.
