Abstract
The commercial 7059 aluminum alloy sheet with the thickness of 3 mm was subjected to two-stage solution heat treatment at different solution temperatures. The mechanical properties such as tensile strength, elongation and hardness were tested, and the microstructure changes of the alloy were observed. The results show that the optimal two-stage solution scheme of 7059 aluminum alloy sheet is:460 ℃warming for 1.5 h+480 ℃warming for 1 h+120 ℃aging for 24 h. At this time, the tensile strength of 7059 aluminum alloy reaches 562 MPa, the elongation is 12.5%, and the Brinell hardness is 165 HBW, which shows excellent mechanical properties.
