Abstract
The effects of two pass non-cross rolling process and cross rolling process on the interfacial bonding properties and microstructure of Cu/Al bimetallic clad plates were studied by SEM, material stretch test machine and finite element simulation software. The results show that, the cross rolling process is more beneficial to improve the shear strength and the stability of the overall bonding properties of the clad plate than that of non-cross rolling process. This is because the cross network Al ridges are formed at the interface during cross rolling, and the shear strength of the clad plate after rolling reaches 61.52 MPa. However, the interface of the clad plate with non-cross rolling process is adhered by strip-shaped sticky Al ridges, and the shear strength of the clad plate is only 46.89 MPa. Meanwhile, the equivalent strain of the interface layer is more evenly distributed along the width direction during cross rolling, which effectively suppresses the sudden drop of the shear strength at the edge of the clad plate.
