Optimization of Process Parameters and Friction-Wear Performance Study of Fe-Based Alloy Coating Laser Cladding on 2Cr13 Steel Surface

    • To tackle the wear issue on the blade surface, Fe-based alloy coating was applied to the surface of 2 Cr13 steel substrate utilizing laser cladding technology. Based on orthogonal experimental data, the effects of various process parameters on the dimensions of the coating formation using range analysis were investigated, and the interface structure and wear resistance of the coating under optimal process parameters were examined. The findings indicate that the optimal process parameters for the Fe-based alloy coating cladding experiment include a laser power of 1800 W, a scanning speed of 4 mm/s,and a powder feeding rate of 22 g/min. Under these conditions, the coating exhibits excellent formation quality and establishes a robust metallurgical bond with the substrate. The primary phases identified within the coating are α-Fe, Fe-Cr solid solution and Fe-Ni solid solution. Moreover, the average microhardness of the coating is measured at 572.61 HV0.2, which is 2.09 times greater than that of the substrate. The friction coefficient of the coating is recorded at 0.7096, reflecting a significant reduction of 29.88% compared with the wear coefficient of the substrate.
