Effects of Process Parameters on Shovel Spinning Quality of 1060 Aluminum Alloy Flanged Cylindrical Parts

    • For aluminum alloy cylindrical parts with flanged bases, the shovel spinning process was adopted to study the forming quality of the cylindrical part and the energy and force parameters of the die. By selecting key process parameters such as shovel reduction ratio, feed rate, and mandrel speed, the strain at the roller nose, the average strain of the cylindrical part, and the forming load during the process were analyzed. The results demonstrate that these process parameters significantly influence the forming quality. When the shovel reduction ratio exceeds 30% of the blank thickness, the process becomes infeasible. The strain at the roller nose increases first and then decreases with the feed rate and mandrel speed. The forming load decreases initially and then increases with the feed rate, while it increases significantly with the mandrel speed and shovel reduction ratio. Simulation and experimental comparisons verified the effectiveness of parameter optimization.Further experimental analysis under different shovel reduction ratio provides valuable references for optimizing the high-quality forming process of flanged cylindrical parts.
